Gonna be a really hot take, but I don’t think that Blue Bay Shepherds are inherently unstable assholes that want to rip everyone’s face off like Tumblr claims they are.

They’re low to mid-content wolf dogs, which leads to its own share of challenges, and admittedly have rough puppy years (but so do lots of other dogs). But otherwise? They’re functional companions once you get them through the teenage punk years. I’ve met a few of them at various dog events, one being in Georgia. The Blue Bay in question was a nice, functional dog who sat calmly beside her owner and was not acting like an asshole (unlike the Border Collie right beside her. Said BC seemed to be intent on starting a fight, by the way). From what I’ve read, being a member of the FaceBook page, this is kinda standard behavior.

Are they perfect? No. I don’t like the long hair and the shedding (same reason I don’t like long haired GSDs). Could they be improved? Probably, but most dog breeds could be improved. Are they inherently evil assholes owned by worse people than doodle owners/people who were lied to? No. Would I own one? I’d love to, but I won’t for the same reason I won’t own a Presa Canario or a Tosa Ken - I just don’t have the time to dedicate to their needs.

But the Blue Bays I have met were nice, stable dogs. They weren’t evil. They weren’t bad. The owners I’ve seen, from my close to a year of lurking, seem to be very informed about the needs of their dogs. For the most part, Blue Bays also seem to be breeding true. I think the most common complaint against Blue Bays has been a prey drive (the owners in question are usually told they need to fence their yard) or the dog decides it’s going to be picky for a week or two. They seem like good dogs and I’d like to see what the future holds for them.

I don’t get the hate, other than people being against what might become the Vlcak 2.0 and hate against companion dogs in general.

yea once again i am really hoping it's not a full blown server, i sincerely do not think qstudios is ready for that kind of undertaking and ngl i'm not either. like as much as i go fucking wild for the multilingual communications, even if by some miracle they completely fixed the legal side of things there's some other stuff that's raising some red flags for me so uh.......

like first of all there have been europeans since the fucking first day of the server and yet very rarely were events scheduled at euro-friendly times and when they WERE it felt like it was because the french fans beat the studio into doing it, which they obviously should not have to do and it would have been SO easy to just hold a couple events at euro friendly times instead yknow trade it off like shared custody because we have the update accounts and if it's on a weekend some americans can just wake up before noon and still catch it live. it would have been so easy i don't get why the euro fans had to fight so hard for this.

secondly why in the fuck would you invite people to a server that is entirely about collaboration without making sure there would be people online during their usual hours and YES this is about the koreans, why in god's name would that not be included as a consideration? the only reason yd interacted with as many people as she did was because she fucked up her sleep schedule like that shouldn't be a requirement. i can think of a couple "blue sky" (i.e. idealistic with no regard for real feasibility) solutions, like "invite a few people from an existing language that stream in that time frame" or "invite another language group in that rough time zone", but honestly i'm flabbergasted. did we not consider this or did we just decide we didn't care?? there's a fucking half day difference between the prioritized server timezone and korea. sorry, but it's a multicultural server; you can't prioritize america forever, even if the server owner is from there

third and less importantly but why in god's name was pepito going to be given a european admin. most of pepito's parents don't come online before midnight in europe. that's fucking insane. that was doomed to fail from the beginning. obviously this is small potatoes in terms of pepito but what the fuck was that. who fucking signed off on that.

Tansui's Adventures - #9, Allies and Enemies

By the time Tansui had delivered the treats and gotten the news, it was starting to be evening again - and he was more than ready to just curl up by the stairs and sleep. However, Papashan informed the thaumaturge about something alarming… 

Someone of importance had gone missing. And the rounds were to find some clues. And now, knowing someone was out there, alone and possibly in danger, how was Tansui supposed to sleep? Answer, they couldn’t. And thus, the new mage set for searching this missing person. 

Thankfully, it didn’t take too long - natural curiosity and their ability to attract situations was for once playing in their favour… until, as the roguishly handsome stranger with white hair and quick with so fittingly put it, the dead came out to play. 

Tansui hadn’t fought against Voidsent in what felt like years, and yet they’d always remember the stench of one. Thankfully though, they had some help this time - the stranger taking majority of the heat while Tansui could focus on slinging his spells. Magic from both the mage in training and the Voidsent flashed in the night, illuminating the otherwise dark landscape - the steel of the strangers sword glinting at every spell and attack slung. 

Even when additional company was brought in, or when the claws came far too close for comfort, or when they were starting to run awfully low on fire-power for a short moment, Tansui felt oddly at ease - knowing someone was there, had his back for however short of a moment, that they weren’t in this alone for once was a comforting thought. 

One last Astral Fire was what finally took the Voidsent down, allowing Tansui to take a step back, catch his breath, and let the stranger help with the lady. She was apparently his responsibility, or some sort - Tansui might’ve slipped on his focus roughly there, distracted by a crystal on the ground….

I hate those posts like "this is about aromanticism, don't tag as ace or aroace!" as if aroaces aren't aro enough because of our asexuality, and non-SAM aces relating to aros is somehow a bad thing. Also some of the aroallo accounts are so quick to regurgitate ace discourse talking points because they think aces are erasing and oppressing aros, I hate that so much

Yeah, to an extent I can completely understand where people are coming from when asking this. I have similar issues with people tagging autism posts as ADHD because they show up in my feed because of the ADHD tag even though the post only mentions Autism. It can be frustrating to be looking for posts and get something completely different. But on the other hand...it feels like some people are taking the idea of these tags way too seriously. Tagging is a minimal issue in the grand scheme of things. Tagging does not actually derail a post as much as people act like it does. Tagging a post you reblogged does not make that post show up in the main tags. I understand that AroAllos do not want to have their personal experiences conflated as Asexuality because it can feel like erasure when you write a personal experience about you identity only to have it tagged as something that is not you identity. But also I don't think people realize how much overlap a lot of aromantic and asexual experiences have. Acting like they are so incredibly different and can't have any overlap is willful ignorance at best and malicious separatism at worse. And it's incredibly disheartening as an AroAce to see how many Aro people seem to have gotten comfortable and even feel justified in the low-key bigoted things they've said against aces and aroaces.

Some of the absolutely wild takes I've seen can range from "AroAces shouldn't post in the aromantic tag" to "Don't tag your post as aromantic if it doesn't mention aromanticism [aka doesn't mention an experience in which the viewer deems as an aromantic experience]" to literal straight up acephobia or aroacephobia and it's absolutely wild because as someone who exists in both tags I've seen this happening basically solely in aromantic tags.

It's genuinely wild to me how we even got to this point in the aspec community where people are arguing over tagging to the point of trying to exclude certain aros from the aro tag completely because they feel less seen as compared to others and act like it's the fault of those other aspecs that they are being oppressed.

I was someone who was around when the Aro and Ace communities were mostly a united force. Because when the entire world was against us we at least had each others back. half the problems people mentioned when it came to the reason to split the community so drastically were not problems I ever actually saw. Hell they still aren't problems I see. I'm not saying that it doesn't happen but I personally have not seen anyone assuming or saying that if you're aro you must also be ace, which makes me thing it's not actually as big of an issue as people seem to think it is. the aro and ace communities being united didn't mean that aromantic was a subsection of asexual, though I believe it'd be lying to ignore the split attractions model in the creation of the aromantic identity and how both the Aro and Ace identities as we know them today kind of emerged from that model.

As I said not too long ago: the separation of the aro and ace communities has done more harm than it's done help. We are making it easier for people to target us by splitting up the way we have. By making enemies out of fellow aspec people you give aphobes the space and comfort they need to start pushing us out again.

We are literally in the same boat. if that makes you upset then you can get on your own raft but you can't then demand everyone else get on their own rafts too or try to sink the ship that everyone else is on.

the tag discourse is stupid. there are more pressing issues to be upset about rather than tumblrs shit tagging system. This helps no one. If aroaces posting in the GENERAL AROMANTIC TAG upsets you THAT MUCH then you can literally go into the aroallo tag to find the content you want to see or better yet MAKE THE CONTENT YOU WANT TO SEE. If an asexual tagging a post they relate too with ace bugs you that much then fucking block them. it's not erasure when someone of a different sexuality feels represented by your post. If an aroace tagging a post as aromantic when you feel it is only about asexuality makes you that mad then you can literally block them. You cannot decide how someone should tag their posts because you personally do not know their experience. Grow the fuck up.

I'm rose repulsed. there are barely any spaces and posts about rose repulsed people in the main aspec tags. You want to know what I did? I made my own fucking space. i went to the romance and sex repulsed tags and posted there. I made posts about being repulsed. I have a fucking blog and a discord server centered around repulsed people. Yes it sucks when other people don't make content you like but that's when you have to accept you need to make it your damn self and not throw a fit over tags on tumblr dot com.

apologies for a long rant, If this ask was bait then congrats you got a rant out of me but also I think if people really want to block me over this instead of having a conversation like adults then so be it. Those who think this sort of exclusion is justified and correct are not people i want to be interacting with in the community. they are not people I want following me. I support AroAllos. I support all aromantic people. I understand where they are coming from in their pain. I do agree that they deserve more recognition because they often moralized to be morally bad for their existence and as a repulsed person NO IDENTITY should be viewed as inherently bad. I have no ill will towards AroAllos making posts about ther experience, they deserve to have their experience shared. But the way some people have been acting in the aromantic community is not acceptable and should be called out because at this rate some people are really toeing the line of the ace discourse that happened in like 2016 and as someone who went through that I REALLY don't want to see it repeat itself.

Fëanorian Week 2023, Day 1: Maedhros

I’m so late with these I’m not even fashionably late.  But better late than never (cf. Fingolfin, probably, after finally getting to Middle Earth).

To anyone who went “Hmm I wonder if the theme this year is going to be classical sculpture?”, well, congratulations, you’re right, though I don’t know how you would have guessed that.  I was originally going to do something where I based each drawing off the meaning of the name, and since “Maitimo” means “well-shaped one” the first thing that came to mind was a Greek or Renaissance statue.  But after finishing it I decided that it had been a lot of fun and I might as well do the rest the same way.  And it sort of fit into the whole Fëanorian theme since Nerdanel is a sculptor.

look the thing about harry potter is that i don't actually care what you do with it. i, and others, can ask you to leave it in the past all i want, but fundamentally i don't know you and i can't stop you from doing anything if you want to buy harry potter merch or even just keep reading the books or whatever. but on the other side of that, if you're still doing those things in 2024, especially if you've got your hogwarts house in your bio, you're still engaging with it publicly, i will not trust you and probably won't want to interact with you, irl or online. especially if you're not from the uk, because at the end of the day she's doing the most damage here.

but also - you don't have to announce that you still do those things! if you don't actively engage with the fandom anymore or buy anything but you still rewatch the movies or reread your copies of the books you don't have to tell everyone you're doing that. you do you, random stranger on the internet, but i won't trust you, and i can only speak for myself but if you feel the need to announce and ask for absolution for still liking harry potter you're not gonna get it from me. work through that yourself

hi, does anyone have links to posts with advice on respectfully writing characters with NPD? (or just, have any advice on doing such?) I'm working on planning out a story and I want one of the characters to have NPD, but I want to portray them respectfully and without stigmatizing the disorder, and there's not much (useful, non-stigmatizing) resources out there about NPD in general. (I've done some research already by reading NPD resources from the community on tumblr, so I think I have a basic understanding of how the disorder affects people who have it and how the stigmatized portrayal of it is inaccurate, but I'm looking for advice specifically for writing a character.)

more specifically, what I'm looking for advice on is what the character's point of view and internal monologue could be like, and how to portray a character with NPD who is in a position where they're accepted for who they are and their emotional needs are being met, and info on how Autism and NPD might interact in a person who has both. (I might add on to this post later with more details on what I've got for the character so far.)

I've seen THREE of those types of posts calling celebrities Isreal supporters with zero evidence provided except their religion. And sure, you can suspect that someone might be a zionist based on that, but you cannot claim it factually unless you have evidence ready to point to.

I know PLENTY of Christians who do not support Isreal and support Palestine. You cannot point at someone, say "they're far right" and then call them a zionist with no other evidence. Unless that person has done something that supports Israel, directly or indirectly, then it's pure speculation, you are spreading potentially harmful rumors, and I don't want to keep getting blocked by people simply because I asked to see where they were getting this info from.

And, once again, when asked what your source is, if your first response is to get angry instead of finding a fucking link that proves your point, then I don't wanna hear it. You can speculate. You can be wary. In fact, you SHOULD be. But don't just say "X person is a zionist btw" and then hit post. If a person I at least somewhat look up to is, in fact, a zionist, I want to learn more. Direct me there so I can actually reblog your post, eh?

I want to be able to reblog people's art without having to worry about people's negative reactions when it's someone that a majority of people don't like, is that so much to ask?

Why must it be a problem if I like someone's art even if the person believes in something others don't? Why must people treat people like they're bad for liking someone's art and writing when others don't like that person because of their beliefs?

I'm just hanging out and reblogging art and writing that I find enjoyable. In the end that's just what I'm doing when I reblog stuff. Enjoying it. If it's something I don't enjoy/like to see, I just block the tag or, if it's a specific blog that I decided that I didn't enjoy and don't want to see I block that blog as well. Otherwise just vibing. I don't hate anyone that doesn't like someone else of course, but the way people talk about that one person, it's like they think it's the worst possible thing for someone to enjoy that person's art and writing. I just can't hate someone based on that person's beliefs, it just goes against my own personal beliefs, and I can't help that I still enjoy those things.

I try to keep the drama and stuff off my blog cause I'm not about that. And it shouldn't be treated like some kind of crime to still enjoy someone's art/writing/etc just because other people don't like that person, in my opinion.
